Working in partnership with caring adults, Girl Scouts allows girls to explore their potential without competition from boys — an opportunity many educators consider essential for girls to achieve future aspirations. By encouraging its girl members and adult volunteers to Discover, Connect and Take Action to make the world a better place, Girl Scouting provides a solid foundation of community involvement and growth that lasts a lifetime.

Sweet Bay is one of 36 regionally-based volunteer-led Girl Scout service units located in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Our goal is to provide the leadership and structure that lets girls get the most from their Girl Scout experience.

Any girl between the ages of 5 and 17 can become a Girl Scout. As a member of the council, girls can participate in program activities that are not only exciting and fun, but also enrich their lives and meet the needs of their communities. The following are the different program levels:

•Daisy Girl Scouts, age 5-6 kindergarten or grade 1
•Brownie Girl Scouts, ages 6-8 or grades 2-3
•Junior Girl Scouts, ages 8-11 or grades 4-5
•Cadette Girl Scouts, ages 11-13 or grades 6-8
•Senior Girl Scouts, ages 14-15 or grades 9-10
•Ambassador Girl Scouts, ages 16-17 or grades 11-12
•Adult Girl Scout Volunteers, age 18 and over

Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore

Sweet Bay Service unit

Hi my name is Chelsea, I am a senior in a Performing Arts High School with a dance discipline.  I also teach/assist many classes at the Once Upon A Dance Studio.  I am earning my Gold Award this year for my project “Dance is Fitness.” It’s all about getting fit while having fun.  My project involves doing chair dancing with senior citizens, some are still able to walk but many are in a wheel chair and can not walk.  The project requires an addition 50 hours.  Doing the chair dances with senior citizens alone is not enough hours to accumulate in a month and so I submitted additional hours proposing some fun Girl Scout programs.

I am available to come out to your meeting or location to do a program or just for the fun of it.  The level programs are listed below and deal with dance/exercise/fitness.  I can help your troop complete some or all of the activities if you are interested.  I would like to schedule these programs in March to complete my hours in time for my April 1st deadline.

Daisy Red petal or just for fun
Brownie
Junior Dance, Fun and Fit, Sports Sampler, Stress Less
All Teen Levels Invitation to a Dance, The Performing Arts, From Fitness to Fashion, From Stress to Success

Please feel free to contact me at anytime with questions or appointments and I will do my best to get back to you as quickly as possible.
